This trip combines two activities: a visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center and a visit to Punta Uva’s sightseeing point. The Jaguar Rescue Center rehabilitates mistreated, injured and/or confiscated animals, which are then reintroduced to their natural habitat in protected areas. Visitors have direct contact with monkeys, wild cats, sloths, raccoons, anteaters, marsupials, reptiles, amphibians, etc.

Cahuita National Park Hike Waterfall

We will pick you up at your hotel and drive to Cahuita National Park. The tour will start at the Kelly Creek ranger station, this is the entrance closest to Cahuita town. From here our professional naturalist tour guide will use his sharp senses to spot animals. You will meet some new friends along the road such as white-faced monkeys, sloths, snakes, raccoons and numerous other different types of species that you will be able to observe and learn about.

La Ceiba Reserve - Day Tour

During this 2 1/2 hour hike you can explore the reserve's primary rain forest and the variety of mammals which live there. In La Ceiba reserve you can find 90% of Costa Rica's biodiversity and there is a great chance to see animals such as toucans, parrots, golden orioles, hummingbirds, monkeys, sloths and different kinds of colorful frogs.
The Jaguar Rescue Center releases the majority of their rescued animals in this private reserve.

La Ceiba Reserve - Night Tour

After a wonderful dining experience, you will go on a two and a half hour hike through the primary rain forest on La Ceiba private reserve. On the hike, you use special observation techniques in order to see the nocturnal animals. There is the possibility of seeing many different types of amphibians, reptiles, night birds and mammals. This adventure will open our eyes to the beauty that is hidden in the dark.
La Ceiba Reserve is the location of the jaguar rescue center's re-introduction program. It has well-maintained trails and educated guides.
Cahuita Boat, Snorkel and Hiking Trip

Cahuita National Park features the largest coral reefs in Southern Central America as well as great hiking trails with lots of wildlife. This trip combines a boat ride, snorkeling and hiking. First is a ride in a boat to Punta Cahuita. Once at the point, you can put on snorkel gear to explore first hand the “under water tropical forest”. You will then land for a guided rainforest hike, with comprehensive information on this particular area. Monkeys, sloth, several reptiles, frogs and beautiful insects are common sights. Round trip transportation to Cahuita with pickup/dropoff at your hotel in Puerto Viejo is included.
River and Sea Kayaking with Rainforest Hike

We will drive to the most beautiful location in the area, Punta Uva. This trip consists of three sections. After a safety briefing we will first embark in a magical sea kayaking journey paralleling a coast full of cliffs, caves, and the most amazing rainforest. Then we will paddle our way up river though gorgeous rainforest where you can expect to spot monkeys, sloths, colorful birds, river turtles, bats and iguanas. Your professional guide will deliver a lot of interesting insights on this wonderful eco system. The leatherback turtle is the biggest turtle in the world; it can be as large as 2 meters long and 650 kg of weight. We will have an unforgettable night walk along the Gandoca Beach; I will show you a different perspective of this spectacular experience. You will observe these mothers in the important work of laying eggs and at the same time you will learn important things about the natural history of these special animals in danger of extinction. The captain directs the vessel for the surrounding coast, providing clients with information about the route or aquatic life and answering any questions. Also, during the whole journey, guides will offer natural drinks, soda, water and beer. During the tour, visitors have the opportunity to see dolphins, stingrays, sea turtles and migrating whales. From the boat, major islands in the area may be viewed including Olocuita and Isla Verde, which was once used by the native Quepoa Indians as a cemetery, many years ago.
